Cercle d’Art des Travailleurs de Plantation Congolaise (CATPC) is a collective of plantation workers from the Democratic Republic of Congo that represented the Netherlands at the Venice Biennale. Blaise Mandefu Ayawo, an elder of CATPC, played a crucial role in the group's efforts to recover land in Lusanga and reforest it. Tragically, he passed away at the age of 55 while hospitalized in Venice.

CATPC has been using funds from artwork sales to buy back land from Unilever and transform it into biodiverse agroforests since 2014. At the Venice Biennale, the collective installed a series of cacao sculptures, including the central sculpture titled "Mvuyu Libérateur," which depicts a bird splitting open a white cube to reclaim the energy that has financed and built European museums through forced labor. Mandefu Ayawo's legacy as an artist and environmental activist lives on through the work of CATPC.
