Yasmil Raymond, the first non-European and first female to hold the positions of Rector of the Hochschule für Bildende Künste–Städelschule and Director of Portikus, will be stepping down from her roles in July 2024. During her tenure, she implemented long-term plans for Städelschule, including strategic fundraising and diversifying the institution's programming by forming connections with cultural workers across South America, the Antilles, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. Raymond expressed confidence in the financial stability and exceptional staff of Städelschule and Portikus as she prepares to step down, and she believes that the new Rector will continue the commitment to equality, equity, and collaboration that has characterized her time in these positions.
