Lonely Planet social media editor Deepa Lakshmin recently took a three-day bus tour of Ireland's Wild Atlantic Way and shares her insights and tips for anyone planning a similar trip. The cost of the tour was $765.79, including two nights' accommodation at local bed and breakfasts. The tour bus was comfortable with plugs to charge phones, and although the seats could have reclined more, there was enough space for everyone. Each day started with a visit to a cafe along the tour route for some carrot cake and espresso. One of the most scenic activities was a visit to Torc Waterfall in Killarney National Park, where Deepa enjoyed being surrounded by vibrant green moss-covered trees. Ladies' View, a popular regional viewpoint, also offered stunning views of the Killarney landscape. In terms of food and fun, Galway City was the best stop with its lively pubs and live music. Deepa recommends following your ears and exploring Shop St in the city's Latin Quarter. McDonaghs is a must-visit for delicious fish and chips. For those visiting the Cliffs of Moher by boat, seasickness medication is essential as the Atlantic coast can be rough. Despite the waves, the Cliffs of Moher are worth a visit for their beauty. Deepa recommends taking the path towards O'Brien's Tower and enjoying the music from buskers along the way.
